The phone, and whether it is recorded
The number on this site is a tracked line, which means a call to it is logged with the number it came from, the time it started and how long it lasted. Nobody picks it up. It answers with a recorded greeting and takes a message, so the only thing recorded is whatever you decide to say after the tone, and hanging up instead is a perfectly good option.
New York allows a call to be recorded when one party to it consents, which would let a line like this record without saying so. It says so anyway, on every call, because being told is the point rather than the legal minimum. If you would rather not be recorded at all, the form above asks for the same things and records none of it as audio.
Where this covers
